Okay, I am suppose to graduate this december, but I am failing Biochem lab really bad. On the other hand, I have been accepted to dental school, so what do you guys think will happen to my acceptance if I fail this class and don't graduate this semester? On my acceptance letter there was something that says, "... for Spring 2007 graduates, you need to provide a transcipt of the last semester...".
Do you think they will check with my school to verify I have graduated after december?
Thanks

withdraw from the class. take a w.

Most likely one of the terms of your acceptance is that you complete the classes you are enrolled in. If you fail this fall, you can always retake it in the spring.

Yeah, but assuming I fail the class and didn't take it again in the spring, do you think they will contact my school to see if I have graduated. Because in general to get into dental school you just need 90 credits total including the prereq's.

u should pay me to help u write ur lab reports and tutor u in this class... how in the world does one fail a biochem lab?? Unless u don't show up.

in any case, good luck with this!!

The course difficulty is varies among professors/ schools, but what i will say is that this class is not easy at all and not just for me. Many people are doing bad, because the prof is trying to make it really hard on us.
Thanks I will try my best.

Is BioChem one of their requirements?

you mean Biochem lab? it is not. I am just trying to see if not completing your degree will stop me from enrolling in dental school.

maybe they will curve. U never know....u should talk to ur professor and see if he/she will at least let u pass.

I would think not getting your degree would keep you from enrolling. If you can't even pass undergrad, how are you going to pass dental? I would call the school and see what they say (as far as having to repeat the course goes).

Good luck

don't listen to the negative stuff.... ppl that never had to take biochem, or the biochem lab do not know what kind of torture that class can be.

I remember spending well over 20 hrs a week just in that class...and oh my lab was 9 hours per week just in class time 🙂

1. Talk to your academic advisor

2. Talk to your dental school

3. Make a gametime decision. Don't let these people decide your future. You're paying/will pay these people at your school/dental school, so let them help you.

I agree! Make sure you are going to fail first, then, if it's still possible, WITHDRAW!!! A W is far better then and F. Then call your d-school and see if you can enter without graduating, and if not, retake the lab wherever you can find it.

The school will find out. Be proactive and find out what you need to do now.
