Since I have a lower GPA than other applicants I will be applying to a broad range of schools both IS and OOS. Overal =3.2 Sci=3.1 MCAT to be taken in July. I know I will be applying late because of the MCAT and I am taking classes through the summer and wilil also take classes until I am finally accepted. I am ready to apply this year as I have done a 2 year repair on my once 2.2 cum 1.8 sci gpa and am hoping the adcoms will notice this trend and with a nice mcat will grant me acceptance somewhere. I am applying both MD and DO. EC's are good but only thing lacking is research. I have compiled a list of schools from reading through the MSAR and I am contemplating which ones to take off. I want to apply to 35 schools and I am at about 45 right now so I'f you guys could tell me how it looks that would be great. I am not asking for a what are my chances just a "you would be crazy for applying here." ok so the schools in red I am already thinking of giving the ax. so here goes. BTW miami is thier because I have strong ties with the state. I know its number one and your probobly going to go "is he serious" so im just explaining that. I have TONS of family ini florida, especially the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale Area. I am also a NJ resident

Congrats on your upward trend--that's mighty impressive!

I don't know too much about most of the schools you chose, but here's the little bit of advice I have:

I would consider taking Loma Linda off, unless you are a Seventh Day Adventist or hold very similar beliefs. Loma Linda is a wonderful choice if you are SDA, but otherwise it is likely to be a poor fit and you may not be happy there.

Regarding the Jesuit schools (Saint Louis, Loyola, Creighton, and Georgetown). I think they're great choices to apply to (I'm going to Loyola 🙂), and just wanted to point out if your reason for considering taking Saint Louis off is because you don't think you'd get in, I'd consider putting it back as it is at the same level as Creighton and Loyola. Georgetown is probably a bit harder to get into, but I'd still keep them on your list as well.

Of course, if you just don't think you want to go to Saint Louis, then I support you taking them off your list!

Good luck!

regarding the christian schools I would be happy to be there. As far as loma linda I am not SDA but i would not mind thier rules and most people who I have talked to that are there like bieng there and something like 60% of thier graduates end up doing residency there. Although I am a little skeptical cause cali is across the US. maybe ill take off loma linda and keep the jesuit schools. Congrats on your acceptance! and thank you for your input. Ill be keeping st louis on for sure I iwas worried that i would be rejected outright.
