Do oral surgeons actually employ CRNA's instead of anesthesiologists? What is the average salary of CRNA's in dentistry?

Oral surgeons train in anesthesia as part of their residency. They do their own anesthesia for the office-based ambulatory procedures that comprise the bulk of most of their practices. For OR procedures, a dedicated anesthesia provider--which may be an anesthesiologist, CRNA, or anesthesiologist's assistant (= physician's assistant, but specialized in anesthesia)--runs the case just as for any other type of surgery.
