I am a gay man who spends time occasionally on this site, and I have to say through medical school to now in residency I have developed a platonic crush on Dr. Cox. I know I can't be the only one... LOL. She is the backbone of this website. Does anyone else feel this way?

I'm not in the LGBT community, so I was surprised when I learned years back that Judy Garland was a "gay icon." I love the Wizard of Oz, and movie trivia is a family past time, but I was surprised that the LGBT community identified so strongly with her. I guessed Winged Scapula is SDN's Judy Garland!

If somebody, in the LGBT community, could explain why they do, or do not view Garland as a gay icon that would be interesting, thanks.

Intelligent, brash, strong, independent, personable women who speak their minds and forge unique paths in life are like magnets for gay men. Especially when they have casual interests in fine wine and travel. We love them. Who knows why.

I've distinctly thought in the past that WS is the type of coworker/friend that I want when done with training, or otherwise, when reading her posts. Like the OP I don't mean that in a creepy way, I swear .
