Guys, what wallets do you use to store your coins? Offline wallets? Been reading about the Ledger Nano S, it seems like most people rave about it.

Also if you have an offline wallet, and bitcoin forks, you don’t get that new coin (right)? I’m still leaning.

I use trezor for cold storage and exodus to store coins I plan on selling/converting. I do not like to leave my coins on the exchanges. You cannot claim coins from bitcoin forks if your btc is in cold storage.

Speaking of exchanges, look at what coinbase did for bitcoin cash yesterday. Whichever coins they add in the future are likely to see similar gains.

You still get the new coin as long as it is a ERC20 wallet. I hold all my coins on the exchanges. You really have to know what you are doing to manage your own wallet. One wrong mess up and there goes all your cash.

I'm def holding for a while. Why take it out and make a couple hundred bucks? It might be worth a few thousand in a year from now. That's well worth the risk for me.

Edit: Take a look at TokenPay ICO. The whitepaper is very interesting and sounds like massive potential for this company. Curious to hear your guys thoughts on it. I invested in the ICO and got the 100% bonus.

I also think IOTA still has a lot of room to grow. Market cap is massive. Once coinbase adds Ripple, Iota, and Cardano in 2018... we going to the moon guys.
any more good coins to add to the portfolio?

I recommended iota and ripple to friends a few weeks ago, but not sure if I would right now. I generally don't like to invest at price peaks. Tierion is a promising long term hold, it has backing from both Fenbushi and Block Capital.

Hi guys, where can I store ripple, I don't want it on the exchanges. What wallet can I use?

0.47 isn't a terrible entry (price right now). Seems to have good support ~0.48-0.49

Won't touch this fad with a 10 foot pole. It can go down 90%, I still won't have anything to do with it :)

So you make money based on perception of value of green paper, or is it the shiny yellow rocks?

Some of you guys kill me. You live so frugal and save so much money....yet you have no desire to take any risks.

Today was the perfect opportunity to buy low and still is.....btc hit 13k and 5 mins later, it was back at 14k. I am guessing it will be over 20k in 2018. Who knows, I could be completely wrong....but it seems like to me its worth the risk when you are single making pharmacist money. At least it is to me. I would rather take a chance and see what happens.

Cool story brah.

That said, damn crypto took a beating throughout the last 24hrs.

Don’t panic sell and do stupid chit based on emotions. Take the week off and come back after New Years and we’ll reevaluate from there.

Nah, today was the better day to buy. Bitcoin hit less than $10,500, Litecoin went below $150, and Bitcoin Cash went below $1,700. I woke up looking at all these prices and thought to myself, "Wow, sh** dropped hard."

Coins are too risky to me. To be honest, they are worth nothing to me. It's all speculation. No regulation. Any day someone can come up with a new coin. Who is even accepting these coins? How can I buy anything with a coin? Which coin do you accept? Bitcoin, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ripple, Ethereum, Dash, NEM, Monero, ZCash, NEO, TRON, Verge, etc?

This is the biggest scam in the world right now.

What I do appreciate and respect is blockchain technology. That will have so many uses for the entire world. The current coins are all bullsh** because the people who are making money on them are the ones who create them or mined them for a while knowing it would explode in value.

I can't practically use any coin anywhere. Yes, your bank account looks larger, but go ahead and withdraw all that money out now. I don't think you can.

Blockchain technology is great. The current cryptocurrencies not so much. I will use my USD to buy what I want, and I'll continue to invest in the stock market and real estate. I will be okay and sleep fine at night not being an overnight millionaire.

To be fair, the "green paper" is regulated by a strong central bank...and is backed by the strongest economy and military in the history of civilization...

The strong central bank is the biggest con game ever, constantly running up inflation. Roman Empire once had the strongest militirary too

A central bank isn't in an way, shape, or form a con game.

And when the Romans had the best army, the denarius was accepted all over the known world at that time. The Dollar may very well be worthless one day, too. But just in case you haven't noticed, it's 2017 and the US has the strongest military and economy on the planet.

Penny stock biotech... that is about as risky as it gets.

I was using it as a general rule of thumb when the markers start crashing, the smart thing to do is hold and not panic sell. Do whatever y’all want, it’s your $ at the end of the day.

I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that I’ve done the same. I like to test biotech penny stocks (currently doing it with RXII and NSPR).

But, I’ve also held onto them through the storm and made profit.

I was extremely early and now late to the BTC game. I’ve been buying Bitcoins to fund my sportsbook since late 2013. If I would have left those deposits or my winnings from my book i’d have close to 500k right now lol I made good money off my book but not even close to that. I started investing when it hit close to 11k 2 days ago after the 19k jump. Going to invest once a day and a certain amount each day. Lets see how this ride goes. Up about $450 in 2 days. Hoping to hit 6 figures with this. I love how volatile it is. How fast it goes up and down. I’m a scared money don’t make money guy anyway.

Entire market red yesterday, entire market green today... glad to see it come back to life.

Yes wish I had bought on the major dip yesterday AM. Was an amazing opportunity - but didn't last long - and I missed it because I was hoping for another 10%

I didn’t either. Too much holiday spending as it is...

Did anybody else catch the DGB pump by John McAfee this morning? I made about $600 off swing trading the hype for 45 minutes.

how many of you guys are going to report your short term gains to IRS lol

Supposedly IRS has information on a large portion of transactions using some company called Chainalysis among others.
Additionally, in a recently concluded court case Coinbase is to give over information on accounts with transactions totalling more than $20,000 (in this case for the years 2013-2015). However, who is to say about future document requests.

Coinbase ordered to report 14,355 users to the IRS

That being the case, unless I could reasonably hide my money something like Monero (which certainty in the future is difficult to come by), I plan on reporting my earnings and losing that 28%.

Thinking about just getting into the cryptocurrency marketplace. I know I'm way behind and a lot of the gains have been made but I'm hoping there are still more gains to be had. I'm planning to invest $3,000 to start split equally between the 5 coins below. Let me know what you guys think.

LTC (Lite Coin)
XRP (Ripple)
IOTA
BTC (Bitcoin)
ADA (Cardano)

Also, is there any one exchange where I can trade all of these? I tried making an account on Kraken and Bitstamp but my account in pending approval (and who knows how long that can take). Thanks for you help.

Those coins are available on Binance. However, they do not accept fiat currency (USD). You will have to set up a coinbase account, buy bitcoin, then transfer it to binance. I recommend you use coinbase to buy litecoin if the premium isn't too high. Then you can transfer $1800 worth of btc to binance and get the other three coins.

I believe you can use Gemini to convert USD to bitcoin but do not know much about the exchange. Perhaps someone else can speak to it. Verification and transfers of funds may be quicker.

Buy LTC if transferring out. Processing times are much quicker. Minutes compared to hours.

For all on here: take a look at Alan Masters on the website TradingView. He has great analysis for many different coins, buy in and sell targets, and chart information.

Hoe many of these coins tha are associated with business have actual use/value? Meaning being used today, not just an idea for the future? Bnb is. any others? If so, what is their actual use. Not just theoretical use/value.

It is also cheaper to transfer from coinbase --> GDAX --> binance.

Rather than transferring from coinbase-->binance.

what % is everyone up? what % of your asset are you putting into this?

Invested about 20k last month, now have about 45k. Just started day trading a few days ago. Gains will increase faster now. Goal is 1 million by end of 2018. Not joking.
