CS Examination question

Just a quick CS question for anybody who may know. Is it ok to begin the examination of the patient with them still sitting on the side of the bed? I would prefer to do this because it makes examining the head including fundoscopy and pupils easier and quicker. After I'm through examining the head I'd get the patient to lie down and then drape them. Any thoughts anyone?
