CSF glucose in diabetics / DKA / HHS

Does anyone what the CSF glucose levels are in long time diabetics or those in DKA? I think the general rule is that CSF is ~ 60% of serum glucose, but does that still hold in those with metabolic abnormalities?

Suppose you get a normal CSF glucose in a diabetic with suspected bacterial meningitis...does that mean it could actually be low for that person?

afaik, yes, there is a steady filtration rate into csf for glucose. that's why accuchecks of blood tell if you're hypoglycemic in the brain.
