How does one get into forensic dentistry?

And would it be inappropriate to take about the field as a potential interest in a personal statement?

It isn't a very common interest so I think it could be beneficial to mention it. Pretty sure you have to do extra training and a lot of probono work. It is very involved and there isn't much of a financial reward as far as I know. It will enable you to assist in natural disasters, court cases, body identifications etc. So the reward is there, just of a different sort. There was a thread about this a few months back in the dental forum. I suggest you do a search there. The thread was answered by a forensic dentist.
