Hmmm... Yes, veterinary medicine is being overpopulated with more and more students graduating each year. However, I love the idea that Alaskan students finally have a way to pursue veterinary careers without having to move away for 4 years. I've heard that the Fairbanks area has a shortage of veterinarians (Fairbanks is also one of the main hubs of mushers in Alaska and there are literally thousands of sled dogs between there and Two Rivers). This could help with this problem by encouraging students to return home when they have graduated, since if doesn't look like other veterinarians are moving there to fill the gap.
