I am currently deciding whether to attend Chapman University or CSULB. CSULB is the less expensive option and has offered me a grant. Chapman on the other hand has nicer facilities and campus, but it is also more expensive. I was hoping I could get some input, it would really help me out in this decision! Does anyone know about these programs or have any thoughts? Thanks!🙂

seriously? A cheaper school offers you a grant and you have to think twice about it?

Well initially, Chapman was my first choice. So yes.

you're getting the same degree no matter where you go. Why not come out of it with less debt? If you liked the area around chapman then do a clinical there or move there after graduation. As long as their pass/graduation/employment rates are similar go with the cheaper option.

Ive heard great things about both schools! CSU LB seems to have a great rep! I say LB in this case. Congrats

Well I can't tell you much about LB but I can tell you about Chapman since I'm a 1st year at Chapman right now. Although you do get the same degree at the end, it doesn't account for the quality of the program and the amount of knowledge you learn in school. Chapman is a great school with great teachers who care about your progress and want to give you the knowledge to be great pts after graduation. Someone in our class actually transferred from LB to Chapman because she liked it better. We're also getting a brand new facility in 2014 which is awesome. 2nd year we also get to bisect our own cadavers and we have a whole semester for anatomy compared to LB. In coming to your decision follow your instincts, see if you like the curriculum/classes, the area around the school and go tour to get a vibe. Good luck in your decision. If you do decide Chapman I'll see you in Fall!

Was in the same dilemma 3 years ago (I'm a recent grad of the CSULB program) deciding between both Chapman and CSULB. I think it took me a good 2-3 weeks before I had made my final decision, but for me, I made the decision based on CSULB's small class size, location, and it being the affordable option with the fact that giving me grants for grad school. I would have to agree that, yes LB doesn't have the state of the art equipment/facilities, but the quality in the education is there. All of my classmates passed the boards and most/if not all have jobs (some of which are at the clinical sites they interned at). There is an on campus neuro clinic and will soon be opening an on campus ortho clinic as well. Long Beach actually has 2 semesters for anatomy, so I'm not sure where the previous poster got that information. Each PT program is unique, but should prepare you for the boards, and provide clinical skills to make you a good entry level physical therapist. For the most part, you need to determine and figure out what you personally want from a PT program, but in the end, find a school that fits you. Good Luck!!

Thank you everyone so much for the helpful advice. I am currently leaning towards CSULB!
