anyone know where I could find a list of all the CT surg fellowships?

also, are there any GS programs that are particularly well known for placing in CT fellowships? And how competetive is it to get, is a year or more of research required?? So far, from what I have been reading, CT fellowships seem to be getting less and less competetive...true?? I know its hard to gauge, but where do you see the field in 5-6 years?

wups, a couple more questions than I thought I had!

A list of CT fellowships can be found at FREIDA:

CT fellowships have been getting less competitive overall although the more prestigious academic centers are still pretty competitive. Research is usually not required.

Although many speculate about the future of CT surg and how it is a dying field, I tend to disagree.

Although the simple one vessel CABG is/will be non-existent, multi-vessel CABG, LVADs, transplant, and lung surgery will stay the same or increase. You will likely be taking care of the most critical patients (and oldest) in the hospital on a daily basis. You will be the last resort instead of the first. Off pump CABG will increase, VATS for lungs will increase, and possibly future surgery for the #1 cancer killer will improve.

It's all speculation but we'll see.
