I used to love the cube counting part because it was the easiest section for me. I could easily visualize each cube and how many exposed sides they had.
I just took a few weeks off from studying, however, and when I tried cube counting today, I just couldn't do it for some reason! It felt as if I was looking at an MC Esher painting!! As in, the problem wasn't me having trouble visualizing how many exposed sides each individual cube had--the problem was me being able to just see the entire structure one way instead of my mind vacillating between two possible interpretations of the structure. Like, I couldn't tell if the cubes were stacked two-high or just one-high in many of the cube counting problems--my mind made me see it both ways!!
Has this happened to anyone else?
