If I wanted a ball park estimate of my cumulative gpa, I would simply convert all my quaters units to semester units, add in any semester units (transfer student), and plug them into any standard gpa calculator, correct (assuming I separate total units earned by grade)?

Am I missing anything?

Why not just enter all your grades/credit hours into http://gpacalculator.net/college-gpa-calculator/ ?

I'm not sure if my school weighs grades differently.

I simply went through my unofficial transcript and tallied all my quarter units into grade groups, and converted them into semester units.

If they don't change weights between classes, you can just total up your numerical grades for each class (4.0, 3.7, 3.3, etc) and divide by the number of classes.

Are all of your grades weighted equally or do classes have a credit hour designation?

Now that I think about it, semester units were assigned (A, B, C, D, F) while quarter units were (A+, A, A-, B+, B, B-, etc) prior to converting. I simply carried over the grading assinged by the quarter system to the semester system.
