I was just wondering if anybody has received a rejection letter or knows of anyone that has received a rejection letter? I am just curious as to whether or not schools start sending out the bad news this early in the application process (maybe I'm just paranoid because I haven't heard anything back yet).

trust me. its not too early for rejection letters. they send them out if they are completely sure.

I got a letter from OSU saying that they were putting me on a "hold" list...I took this to mean they were rejecting me. I just got it last week.🙁

Hey,

I am a student at SCCO and my roomate does interview tours. As a part of this she also talks with the Professors who are doing the interviewing that day. As she is my roomie, we always discuss the possible new students. There are no doubt a few students in each interview section that do not get accepted.🙄
Sorry if this is bad news. But if you havent heard anything, no news is good news ??
Also, dont worry about being on the "hold" list...this just means that something was a little lacking on your overall score...ie. GPA low, low OATs, not a great interview etc. I was put on the hold list at SCO and was moved up to 3rd on the list when I pulled my application and accepted my position at SCCO.

Yeah, don't worry about the hold list. That means they will re-review your file at another time (maybe a month or so) because they think you will be a competitive candidate, you just weren't competitive at the time they looked at your file. Last month the avg OAT/gpa was 360/3.7 but next month it'll be 330/3.2, something like that. You're definitely not booted! 😀
