Do I leave the earned grade box blank or do I put NA or something? I checked the appropriate box at the bottom and left the grade box blank but it warned me (in red type) that I need to enter a grade. 😕

definitely leave blank....and also leave the credits box blank for them also

Wait, so you're supposed to leave the credits box empty too? What if I know the credit hours for the classes that I am planning on taking?

Well I already sent my application for verification with the credit hours entered for future classes. Wonder what will happen.

No worries - I entered the credits for my current/future classes, and it was verified pretty quickly.

Are you supposed to list all the classes you plan on taking in the next year?

what if you didnt list the classes for next year???

Yes. You may not not all of that classes, but make sure that if you have any pre-reqs still needed that they are listed as Current/Future.

Did they delete the credits though?

No they didn't delete the credits.

I think you will be fine (I forgot to put "and lab" for the lecture and lab courses) since schools will understand that AMCAS is a bit tricky, although try doing TMDSAS and you will want to rip your hair out. If you have completed all your pre-reqs you should be fine.

Well I talked to an AMCAS rep. and he told me to leave the credits for current/future blank because they are meant for "credits earned" not credits that the class will be worth in the future......but from other people's posts it really doesnt seem to be a big deal either way...i guess they understand the confusion

Hey, so I listed my future courses awhile ago, but I had a change of heart of the courses I wanted to take fall semester of my senior year. I wrote down that I would be taking statistics (with lab) and the transcript I sent in (which AMCAS confirmed they received) but I have had the urge to take genetics.... If I change that, will it cause problems for me regarding medical schools and/or AMCAS?

*While statistics would show that I intend to satisfy the year of math most schools require, genetics shows that I intend to complete my major on time.

Also, do med schools understand you may not have taken all of the required courses yet? I would hope so.

I'm wondering about putting future courses into AMCAS... The applicant just has to notify schools individually once he receives his grades for future courses? I'm confused as to whether or not the applicant would have to send anything to AMCAS..or if it's just to schools? Please help! I plan on applying this cycle and will be taking 2 courses this summer and will have grades for then in August. I want to submit to AMCAS by june 1.

I can't answer your first question since I'm a little confused about future coursework being entered into AMCAS. But the 2nd question's answer is a definitely yes. Schools definitely know that you may not have taken all of required courses yet. But my hunch is that they would wait until you send them your grades for those required courses.

Most school have an online reporting tool as part of their website, you use this to report grades completed after submitting

Why would you list current/future courses on AMCAS? I didn't, and it was perfectly fine. (And I had yet to take a few prerequisites when I submitted last June.)

I listed my planned courses on AMCAS. It turns out I took some of them and not others. In fact I didn't go to school spring semester at all (I already have a degree). I never bothered to tell anybody this.

AMCAS will not accept any grade changes / updates after you submit. I had an incomplete on my transcript and even though I completed it later AMCAS would have no part of it. You can certainly send schools unofficial transcripts as updates at the end of summer session and over xmas break.

In terms of missing pre-reqs, one school I applied to wanted to see an extra psych class. I promised them pre-interview that I would take the class the summer before matriculation. Luckily that school rejected me post-interview so now my summer is free.

Do you by any chance know if you need a certain about of credit hours to apply? I'm abroad this semester. My grades will actually be posted through my home institute because I'm enrolled in concurrent courses there. Anyway, we're not here in the UK until the end of May and so these grades (winter 2012) won't be back in time for when I submit on June 1.

There is no minimum number of credit hours to apply.

Would it look *really* weird to apply without credits from Winter 2012 though? :/ Basically, my study abroad uni doesn't wrap up until like May 20 or something, then they have three weeks to post grades after finals, then transfer my info back home to US, get it on my transcript there, and get it to AMCAS. That'd take at least a month but I feel like it's weird not to have it...
