Hi Guys! I'm in the GA-PCOM class of 2011. I have $1,000 from my job to spend on books, but the funds disapper in July when I'll be quitting my job. Any of you 1st or 2nd years have any suggestions as to what books I could buy that I'll most certainly need?

Thanks!!!

My advice would be to wait and check out the books at the libary then buy them
except the terminology book.

For orientation/ early in first term:
Medical Terminology: A Short Course 4th ed. by Davi-Ellen Chabner

For the first term:
As an anatomy text: Either Gray's Anatomy for Students or Essential Clinical Anatomy by Moore. Clinical Oriented Anatomy by Moore is just too long to read.
By joining SOMA you get Netter's Atlas of Human Anatomy.
BRS Gross Anatomy, BRS Embryology.
Bates Guide to Physical Examination & History Taking
Pocket Guide to Physical Examination & History Taking

For second term:
High Yield Neuroanatomy by James D. Fix
Guyton & Hall Textbook of Physiology
BRS Physiology
Lipponcott's Illustrated Review of Biochemistry
Mark's Basic Medical Biochemistry

For the third term:
Lipponcott's Illustrated Review of Pharmacology
Lipponcott's Illustrated Review of Microbiology
Rapid Review Pathology
Robin's Basic Pathology (a new edition is coming out later this year.)
& Last & certain not least in either cost or size
Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine
