I've just begun at Penn in the pre-health program and I was looking for other people who are in the program (or the special-science program). What are your thoughts on the first couple days of classes? I'm taking chem, physics and bio (bio in arts & sciences with day students) all with labs and already I feel like I have plenty of work with chapters to read, material to review and physics problems- even with no labs this first week. I'm just wondering what other people are experiencing and who is out there.

I just started at Penn pre-health too. The physics class was extremely frustrating as prof just started doing proofs on the board and that was it. Bio (I took the all Saturday option) really doesn't seem to bad at all and I don't have Chem start until tomorrow.

I have been spending all of my time on physics for now as my Math skills are very rusty.

Overall, I was expecting a bit more support from the program as a whole. It seems very rigourus and I can seem why Penn post-bacs are successful in the application process. I didn't expect classes to be around 90 students each.

I agree completely.
I also didn't expect the classes to be NEARLY so big. I was expecting more like 15-20 people/class, as well as a smaller post-bac population. I guess it's great that there are so many people involved and interested and doing the postbac here, but I also expected something more intimate and personalized. That said, I like chem tonight, even though it seems like our 3 hour/week class + 3 hour lab is turning into more like 9 hours with the 1 hour recitation and the review and help sessions, etc. I thought he was pretty good though.
What are of town do you live in? around campus or center city? are you straight out of college, or a bit older?
