Shared from a listserv in a professional society I am part of. Crossposted to Medical Students forums.

We are: Drs. Cameron Davidson, Dr. Kyeorda Kemp, Dr. Akshata Naik and Dr. Deidre Hurse, Assistant Professors in the Department of Foundational Medical Studies at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine.

We are conducting a research study to determine if post-baccalaureate premedical programs improved the level of self-directed learning behaviors in individuals that have matriculated into medical school. The purpose of this research study is to help us learn more about the beliefs that recently matriculated medical students have regarding the skills needed to be successful in medical school. We also want to assess individuals for skills thought to help individuals be successful in high demand fields.

We are recruiting individuals currently in the first year of medical school (age above 18 years) to participate in an online anonymous survey. Please fill out the screener (linked here) to express your interest. Those who meet our research inclusion criteria may be contacted via email to participate in the online research study. The online anonymous survey will take approximately 30 minutes or less per survey and you will be compensated with a $10 gift card once you are recruited into the study and complete taking the survey.

Your participation in this study is voluntary and participation will not impact your grades or your college enrollment. The research will take place online via a secure survey software, Qualtrics. Please do not respond to this email. If you have any questions concerning the research study, please contact either Dr. Kemp at [email protected] or Dr. Naik at [email protected] or Dr. Hurse at [email protected] or Dr. Davidson at [email protected].

Thank you so much for your consideration.

You may find the link to the screener here.
