I think the biggest misconception is that you have to be smart. There are plenty of smart people that flunk out. It's all about putting in the time. I also think the biggest mistake people make is underestimating classes because they were a _______ major in undergrad. It doesn't matter what you did in undergrad... at all.

But my undergrad degree was in podiatry! (it was not)
 
Find someone you truly enjoy studying with. It will make the long hours (the long..long.......long hours) seem like they fly by. You will challenge each other and you will see yourself improve alot.

Out of school, find yourself a hobby that has nothing to do with podiatry. It will help you keep your mind clear.
