My hospital has off service rotators from several specialties, but no ER residents. I very frequently send the residents home early if I’m just sitting in the waiting room trying to move things along and can’t do any actual medicine. I’m curious how the ER residency programs are handling this? Do they have enough staff to do proper emergency medicine? Do you feel like you are being shortchanged ? Are you able to watch the response to treatment of things like sepsis? Are you getting enough procedures?
