Hey everyone,

So I'm planning to submit my app next week when submission opens. Everything is complete, and 2 out of 3 transcripts have already been received by AMCAS. The problem is, my current school won't be finalizing spring grades and sending out official transcripts until mid-June. So my options are: 1. Send my current transcripts with my spring grades "in-progress" now, then send the updated transcript when my spring grades are finalized (~June 14), or 2. Just send one official transcript with everything on there in mid-June.

My question is, would sending my transcript without spring grades now help speed up verification at all? Since they'll only have a few spring grades to verify when they receive it.

I really would like my spring grades to be included in my app.

Thanks for the help!

You don't enter the queue for transcript verification until your transcript is received, your application is submitted, and the requisite fees have been received. If you apply June 1 and transcripts are received, you may be verified within a few days, long before a second transcript arrives. If you wait to apply and submit recent transcripts until mid-June, it may take about 3 weeks longer.

Once you are verified, AMCAS will not update your transcript with new grades.

Sending in transcripts now without submitting and paying for your application will not speed up verification.

Unless AMCAS has changed, ( and maybe it has so check) once you are verified you are verified and no changes can be made. So if you send your transcripts now and they get to your application before your new transcript arrives, they will just verify with what they have. And your primary will be verified. Your GPAs will not be recalculated with your new grades included.

Thank you for the answers. So here's a follow up question: my spring grades alone will bump my cGPA from 3.70 to 3.72 and sGPA from 3.90 to 3.91. Is this trend significant enough to warrant that I wait for the grades to be finalized?

No, but of interest is that 3.72 is the average cGPA for those that matriculate. The BCPM GPA is far lower than yours, at 3.65. And the latter is of the greater importance.
