hello everyone,

is anyone currently attending University of Appalachia?... I have so many questions regarding where to stay and how to pay for the school.

please PM me or any reply will be appreciated.
thankx

I need help in finding out more about the school that I will be going to...so far I did not find anyone on SDN who goes there rite now or will go??? pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee........help........

Merged threads. There is no need to start a new thread when you can just bump the old one.

We have at least 3 people at UACP who read the boards. But, not everyone necessarily reads on a daily basis. The pharmacy student schedule can be hectic. I'm sure you will hear from current students. Just be patient. 🙂

Call the school. They know about local loans as well as housing. You may also want to ask about which campus the first year students will attend. It may help you in deciding where to live next year....congrates!

I'm sure they students at UACP are very busy since they are now going out to train various pharmacy's this semester. Hopefully someone from UACP can offer you some advice!

Who here knows what "humtum" means?...I do...lol!

hey thankx for the advice,

I will eventually call the school, but I wanted to hear from students who are there currently.

I am very nervous about the whole moving thing, I live in NJ and to go a small town like grundy freaks me out, but I don't care I will get used to it. I will do anything to becom a pharmacist.
hey if you find out anything about the school, I will appreciate if you can tell me.

By the way how do you know the meaning of "humtum", do you really know or you are just kidding?
thankx

nope not Indian. As I said, I asked someone...who happens to be Indian..lol.

Albilify....sometimes I need to reread my own msgs....I tend to think one thing but write another. Or in this case I wrote something and then rewrote it but then didn't reread it. Hmmm don't even know if that made any sense

I attend the University of Appalachia...what questions do you have? Everyone is under a lot of pressure right now and this school keeps everyone completely busy all year round and that's probably why no one has responded

Wow, a real live UACP student, nice. I met a guy ( Derek W.) while I was interviewing who said I could email him and ask him questions, but he hasn't responded in two weeks. He seemed like a nice guy, I'm sure he's just very busy. Hopefully you can answer some of my questions.
1. I know everything seems to be going smoothly and accredidation will likely follow as planned, but what happens if not enough people in your class pass the NAPLEX. I know those who pass during the first year will be alright because they will probably have candidate status by then, but what happens to the second class? Is there any recourse if the worst happens?
2. Is there land you can hunt, without paying to join a hunting club?
3. Where do most people study? (library open late?)
4. What's the cheapest housing? (man, those new apartments are
expensive )
5. Do the local banks offer enough of a loan to cover all expenses related to school? Subsidized, unsubsidized? What is the average interest rate for students do you think?

Ok that's enough questions, thanks for offering to answer.

I'm sure the charter class will do well enough on the naplex to gain full accreditation for the school. End of the year is a busy time for most students. If you work at a pharmacy they may be willing to pay some or all of your tuition if you are willing to work for them after you graduate

Thanks PharmD2008. That gives me some things to think about.

The interest rate is variable but right now it is 7.5...and it is unsubsidized. You have to pay for interest...no federal or government loans can be taken.

That's a high interest rate, but I guess I'll have to suck it up. When you say unsubsidized, do you mean you have to pay the interest while you're in school, or can you just let the interest accrue and start paying it when you graduate? 7.5% of 40,000 is a pretty big quarterly payment while you're in school ($750 every 3 months, and that's just interest). Thanks a lot for asking around, I really appreciate it.

we are all just so busy with the end of the year exam, rotations, and everything else they put on top of us...be ready for an intense year, but it goes by fast and everyone is really helpful!

So how goes this end of year exam?

I just was accepted to UACP and I was wondering if I could get some advice. I am looking into buying a house but am looking at richlands because of the community around there and also the fact that I can get internet there for $ 50 a month without a 500 instilation fee. Any thoughts on if this is a good choice. Also, my boyfreind is moving with me but he currently works at blockbuster and there aren't any around. Are there any job opportunities in the area? Thanks!

$500 installation fee, woah. Where did you get that information? Congrats again.

A couple of people commute from Richlands and I haven't heard any complaints, except when it snows. Richlands is especially not a bad idea for the incoming class since it will be really close to your campus. Also, your boyfriend will have better opportunities to find a job since it is a much bigger area. If he isn't picky, walmart is always hiring...
