So I am in a PGY2 Specialty Pharmacy Administration Leadership residency and I was recruited by my local hospital to help setup a brand new specialty pharmacy with a competitor of my current residency company. The job is a clinical specialty liaison.
So I entered this residency looking for opportunities, connections and so on because I had difficulty finding employment I wanted after my Pgy1. The managed care job market isn't the friendliest right now.
I have been working from home and love it along with the type of work like formulary, medication safety, compliance etc. So I thought a pgy2 could help me to get in with this company at the end of residency, but obviously there's no guarantees.

So all I'm hearing and seeing is how bad the job market is. This job I'm being offered pays pretty well, has evenings and weekends off and will be a new and interesting endeavor. But I hate the thought of burning bridges at my residency by leaving. And no they can't delay the start date and I'll be the only pharmacist on staff other than the PIC at this time. However it would put me as a face to face boots on the ground pharmacist rather than a virtual upper level behind the scenes which I'm doing now in residency and striving for.

I don't know if I'm an idiot to not take this or to take it. Has anyone been through this type of residency or worked this type of job? Anyone have any advice?
