Hello! I need some advice on how I should proceed in moving to University. I have just finished the spring semester and currently have 33 credits. I have taken Bio 1, Anatomy 1 (because I am also considering Pharmacy if med school doesn't pan out), Chem 1, and Calc 1. This summer I am taking Chem 2, Physics 1, and Physics 2. After the summer, I will have 47 credits and only have 5 liberal arts and social science courses to take for my AA.
I have 3 options to transfer:
Option 1: Apply now to move and start in the fall. The problem with this is that if I transfer with less than 60 credits, I would have to submit my high school transcripts (from a long time ago when I was not a serious student) AND have to take the SAT (which I have never taken).
Option 2: Apply for admission to start in January 2012, take the 5 classes I would need for my AA (Humanities, American history, Speech, and 2 social science classes). The university I would transfer to would accept my AA as full completion of the lower division courses towards my bachelors.
Option 3: I have heard that splitting a 2 course series between schools is not necessarily a good idea. Although wouldn't taking a class at a university be better than taking it at CC? Because I have taken the first course of Bio, Anatomy, and Calculus, I could take the second courses of those three in the Fall, along with 2 of the other 5 classes I need for lower division and apply with 60 credits to start at university in January. The problem with this is that I have been informed that there may be some classes that might not be accepted at university. If I had the AA, it would not matter and the degree would be accepted whether or not those particular classes are accepted.
Given those three scenarios, what do you think? I am leaning towards option 2. Even though I have taken the first part of those science classes at CC, I personally feel like med schools would be happier the more science I took at university. Your input is greatly appreciated!
