I think this thread will be useful for the little-bit-behind-people still filling out AMCAS apps that have questions.

As the typical SDNer is getting secondaries and scheduling interviews, I along with the majority of nonSDNers are still working on AMCAS. I wish I could have gotten it in earlier, but for uncontrollable reasons I couldn't.

I feel behind the game by not turning it in already, but it will be turned in by the end of next week.

So feel free to ask any minor or major questions you may have. I am filling out post-secondary experiences right now and will have a question bank soon.

Don't feel bad about not getting it in yet. I am just finishing it up now too. I think that the people who post profusely here probably represent a minority of students nation-wide. Think about it this way: by taking your time, you're able to make the essay exactly what you want. That's what slowed me down. I kept tweeking and editing but it's finally in good shape. The only thing I worry about is the secondaries. It's difficult to draw the line between getting it submitted in a timely manner and getting the essays how you want them. Someone else had asked on another thread whether she is still in time to apply and was reminded that she is way ahead of the August MCAt-ers. The AMCAS is tedious but you'll get to the end. Good luck 🙂

Yes, I'm in the same boat...still trying to finish up...well, really I'm finished but am unsure about submitting it because of an incomplete on my transcript! (long story, I posted about it in another thread).

I do have a question that I have asked in another thread, but maybe you have some knowledge about it...I wanted to use italics once or twice in my essay, but the AMCAS won't let me. So should I go with quotes (this is what most people have told me) or try to find some HTML code to do italics (I don't know anything about HTML, though)?

OK, thanks, good luck!

Hey guys,
Dan, after reading the "sneaky advice for premeds" thread I really applaud you for starting this thread (it reminds me of the NAYC thread 😀). When I was in your shoes (and I filed late!) I just stayed away from all the gunners on SDN altogether.

And karen, you should NOT bother with html code. Find some alternate way to rearrange the phrasing if necessary. You can send me a PM, but I can't promise a timely reply since orientation starts tomorrow and I might be busy at the pubs with my fellow classmates! 😱 😉

Best of luck to you all!!! remember all is not even close to being lost!

sunflower 🙂

G, How long did it take you to finally polish your essay?

and what were you guys putting down for post secondary experiences. I just wrote a little blurb. Not to formal or anything.
