hi guys,
pl. explain me in detail about the curriculum vitae as required by few dental schools in their application form.like what to mention and what not to....thanx...🙂 🙄

Well, you have two choices, you can either list chronologically what you have been upto for eg, 1998-1999 D.M.D, 1999-2000 Family Practice Dentistry, 2000-2001, GPR at XXXX University etc., or you could write it with the aim of the resume, your educational experience, followed by your professional experience followed by your other skill sets and may be hobbies etc.
Basically you are enumerating all that you have done after highschool.
Hope that helped,
Saravs

thanx saravs,
so..is it the same as sop.....r clinical experience...🙄

sop is statement of purpose and it is not the same as currciculum vitae or clinical experience.

currculum vitae is a detailed, lengthy and structured listing of education, publications, projects, awards and work history.

hi geetanjali

curriculum vitae or CV as its called sometimes is a summary of all ur achievements, educational qualifications, work experience, etc......... a long long time ago it used to be called biodata i think?!! i have never ever heard that term except once!

the term resume is also used to describe a CV. microsoft has some set formats/templates to prepare a resume/cv - u could use those to get an idea of what its all about. they have choices like "professional resume", "elegant resume" etc. ..see what u like best and what goes with all your experience and credentials.

u could even put in your scores as a separate header if u have them already.

all depends on how much time u want to spend on all this!!😛

hope this helps.

resume is a summarized version of CV.
CV is in detail and lenghtier compared to a resume.

hi everyone

yeah geetanjali....as itsme said CV is longer and more detailed outlining everything u have done

hi there i gt it abt the sop bt can any body tell where can u get a copy of this or anybody has it please post it here

hi fulldenture

there are lots of sites on the net that help u understand what an sop should contain including the dental school sites themselves that specify what points u have to concentrate on. try searching on the net.

thanks tooth mail if u will be kind enough to tell me those sites or if u have a copy please let me know thanks

hi fulldenture

why dont u try

http://www2.sjsu.edu/faculty/gcallaghan/graduate/winningstatement.htm

and

http://www.statementofpurpose.com/

for starters and search for more on google....

after that, its ur own creativity that will lead to the final SOP. if u r not so sure of ur abilities, there are sites that offer to edit and polish ur sop for u if u pay a fee. please search on google and u will come up with umpteen number of those sites! just make sure they dont convert ur sop into something run-of-the-mill.

hope this helps

Hi,
Those are good links, I am going to place it in the 'sample resume' thread for reference at a later date. If any of you have any other interesting links feel free to place it in the sample thread .
