Hello all-

Quick question. I'm taking a major load of science courses both this summer and fall in order to get some pre-requs done. I need to work part-time in a drug store of some sort, both for experience and hopefully for a letter of recommendation. The only problem is that I have very limited amounts of time. I would like to work 14-17 hours per week. What stores would most likely be able to help me out? I volunteer on weekends, so I'm limited to time during the week. Do I even have a chance at getting this type of job...even if it is just an assistant in the pharmacy or something?!?

Thanks!

I worked at a local grocery store pharmacy this past school year and they let me work 15-18 a week, try one of those if they're around. Also, it depends on the individual pharmacist, some remember the need to work part time, some don't care and only will accept full time help, good luck

Just go in and explain your situation and they'll fully understand that you need experience as a pre-pharm student. If they can't fit you in, then go look elsewhere.

There's a high school student at the CVS that I used to work at, and she works only 5 hours a week on Mondays because she plans on applying to pharmacy school in the near future. Oh, and hand them your school schedule and work out the hours you want to work with the manager or pharmacist. 🙂
