So I have applied for a few CVS pharmacist job postings. I keep getting the message saying not selected for position within minutes after applying. Are the postings fake?? Or does my resume suck that much lol

They are somewhat misleading. Most of the time the DL have already chosen a candidate to fill the position.

Why post the position then? I'm looking for a job and haven't had any luck. To make matters worse, i have to worry about fake positions now? Is there a way to know which are fake so i dont end up wasting my time applying?

Policy/law compliance requires a job be posted before being filled. It also blinds the prepharm students from heeding our warnings about a lack of jobs. The only way to know if there are any real job openings is to speak to the person doing the hiring.

What did you answer on the preassessment question "I prefer to work in _______ environment" A)Challenging B)well staffed pharmacy ?

I was stupid enough to put well staffed...it was too late to change it by the time i realized. So does this mean I'll never be able to get hired by CVS lol

You can re do the assessment every six months. They auto filter out applicants pretty heavily based on the assessment

Let’s play a game... if a DM gets a stack of 100 resumes for 1 open position, then those 100 resumes are the ones that didn’t get prescreened out. Including candidates who were prescreened out, how many total applications do you think a DM would have gotten for that position? 250?

I am a manager for a walmart supercenter. I can honestly say when a position opens up now, new grads have the best chance of getting it. Smart DM's are now hiring part time hourly associates who can "flex up" when needed and paid 10-15/hr less, also giving much less PTO so they dont have to worry about covering it with the one floater they havent fired yet. lol. its getting bad out there. For instance my DM has cut the 80 hour staff positions almost completely and laid off a bunch, fired some...etc. ALL were replaced with lower paid hourly associates. 24-56 hr per 2 weeks. There is nothing you can do as the company supports this change over to lower wages which equals PROFITS! you cant fight it.

As a manager, i can say these jobs HAVE to be posted to be fair. That said, they are also usually spoke for if they are "good" positions. Meaning, nice neighborhood, good clientele, good hours, good pay. Most positions are NOT this however and new grads are paid LESS per hour, so you should have an easier time than me of landing that job. Although, they probably have a long line of new grads already "juiced" in.. ya know what i mean?
