Hi,
I found an internship with CVS this summer in Fort Meyers/Naples area.
Has anyone done an internship with CVS?
Do you know how long it is?
And do you how much they pay?
Do they still offer the scholarship?
Is it worst/better than Walgreens internship?
Thanks guys!

i'm in the fort lauderdale are and did a walg. intership last summer. I had classmates who did CVS. with CVS it's pretty much just a summer job, but you do become familiar with the pharmacy. with walg. there are meetings, lectures, social events on top of working at a pharmacy and all of them you get payed for. I think its more of a internship at walg. pay is about the same 12-14, both between 8-12 weeks long. now i'm sure not every region is the same and they might not even be able to afford to do it again like past years with all the budget cuts. the two companies are practically the same.

hope that helps

As the previous person said, you'll get to do more stuff at Walgreens. You'll meet a lot of other interns, go to intern meetings, do little projects and get to have a paid fun day. Some districts took their interns out to a casino boat, baseball game or basketball game.

CVS might have a fun day, but it's a job where you're left alone to work in your pharmacy. No projects, maybe one intern meeting at the beginning to briefly train everyone. Being stuck in the pharmacy means you probably won't make as many connections like you would working at Walgreens. CVS will however find you a store no matter what.. they're very accomodating. Whereas Walgreens may turn you down due to lack of positions available.

I had an internship with Walgreens for almost 3 years and we only met with other interns one time. There were no projects, "fun days", or anything else that was mentioned. I was pretty much just an extra technician. I think it depends on who your region's recruiter is and how much time they invest in their interns. I don't think it matters either way which company you intern with unless you're already considering one after graduation. In that case, it'd be a good idea to try that company out so that you can start as a pharmacist already having a few years with the company. More vacation that way :)
