I’m curious about this too. I really want to get out of retail but not sure if the environment at CVS Specialty or LTC would be any better. Any insight is greatly appreciated!
LTC is so much better than retail. You get to sit the majority of the time. The pay used to be much lower, but not anymore for new hires.
This x100. Every job has it's ups and down and things to complain about but even the very worst days I have had in LTC (say the days before a hurricane is project to come through or the time all of my OE techs called out) are better than most of my shifts at CVS. It is really incredible to realize the quality of life bonus you get from not interacting with the public, not running a register, not answering phone calls, etc.
I would avoid CVS LTC if at all possible. LTC in general is not bad, but the LTC-owned-by-CVS was ruined when they purchased it and started making changes. I am putting in my notice this week and cannot wait to get out after 3 years! 😀I’m curious about this too. Lol what? LTC definitely has metrics, bills patient insurance, and requires RPhs to answer the phoneYou don't have to answer calls? Sweet! Also no insurance to deal with, no metrics, you can use the bathroom whenever you want. I don't know why any new hire would choose retail over LTC now that the pay is pretty much equal.

Staff cuts, unobtainable metrics, new (awful) computer system... typical CVS crap. What kind of changes have they made since purchasing Omnicare?
