Anyone know what rate these chains are offering this year for 2020 grads in California?

I seen a few new grads start at $63-64 (n = 3) since 2015 (incl a 2020 grad) in the Sacramento area but that's Walmart. So yeah starting wages are obviously stagnating and most people are just gonna get the 50 cent raise every year

In central valley, I was class of 2018 and my start was 67/hr. Class of 2019 at same chain the starting hourly dropped to 64. Not sure what it'll be for class of 2020.

$51 an hour? Wow. How many hours a week? 30? And you’re looking forward to joining the “profession”? Oh ok.

Damn. I started at $53.50/hr six years ago cause I was desperate and that was low back then.

I predict salaries will fall to high 30s low 40s per hour because in many places they are already high 40s low 50s and they salaries are changing drastically.

You need to include not only monetary pay but other benefits.PTO Maternity leave Insurance etc.

I am a P4 with 7 years of retail experience and was offered $58 an hour for a float job with no guaranteed hours south of the Bay Area with one of the national chains. That is definitely a lot lower than in the past, especially for an extremely high cost of living area. The DM told me he got over 90 applications for 3 grad intern jobs. Luckily, I matched for residency.

i Just got my offer this week - 57/ hour for bay area by big retailer. I thought this was low ball.

Salaries definitely decreasing at a fast rate. Got an offer for 56/hr in Monterey, CA but I guess at least it's not floating and a staff positioon

Retail chain or grocery store? well I asked my DM that I wanted to do floater position that’s why I got it. Lol How is market in Monterey? I

CVS offering $64 for SF? LOL

$64 was 2008 rate in SF. So 12 yrs, 0 wage growth. Next 12 yrs, it will probably be another 0 or most likely negative growth.

Wow, you got scammed.

Seriously, if you are a student, it's beyond idiotic to join a dead profession.
