To all you Case people (exmike, kwanny, etc.):

How long before I start to panic about getting CWRU application confirmation?

It's been three weeks since I've submitted my secondary materials (on-line essay and snail mail check).... when should I start calling them? I don't want to be pushy, but shouldn't they have everything by now?

here's a story about which I posted a question about before.

I waited TWO and a HALF MONTHS and never heard from Case, i called them, and they said they didnt get my payment, and thats why my file was never complete. I sent the a check, and got an interview a week later, and then got accepted.

so.. CALL THEM.

i waited about a month to hear from them- the status page hadn't acknowledged recieving my check. however, the day after they did say my file was complete, i got an interview invite. hang in there. you might want to call them, as mike mentioned above. that can sometimes speed things along a bit.

They said they didn't get my check either. However, my bank statement showed that they cashed it. Strange. I guess I'll be calling them too.

definitely call them... not only did they check/update my status right then, but they told me over the phone that i was being invited for an interview.

When you checked before calling, was your status "NO" under the section "Application reviewed and marked complete"?

I submitted all of my stuff to CWRU in late september. The status page had all of my stuff as received: secondary, check, recs, the works. However, under "Application Marked as Complete" it said no. This continued for about 7 weeks (I had classes during their very specific call in hours.). Finally in late november, I'm finally able to call them and I ask them why my application isn't marked as complete. They put me on hold for about 5 minutes and then said that it should be marked as such later that day (They gave me some BS reason why it wasn't marked complete). Sure enough, it happened in less than an hour. Then I got a rejection letter a week later 🙄

yep. (as in, yep it was "NO")

Yes call them. They did not receive my check for about a week after I had already sent it (and the rest of my materials). When I called to insure everything had been received I got my interview offer. It took less than one week from the time I turned in everything. Just make sure you call when they accept status check phone calls. I believe that it is Tuesday (and maybe Thursday) from 2-4PM EST. I'm not sure on this so you might want to check on their website. Otherwise, during other times they don't answer status check questions.

On a sidenote, I just interviewed there and I was very impressed by the school! Did anyone else get the interviewer Dr. Smith, who always wears a bow tie? If so, was he a bad interviewer? He asked me like 3 questions total. I had to ask him a bunch of questions just to extend the interview time!

I think I'm up for the same situation. I just called. They said the app was complete and I should hear something within 2 weeks.

I had Dr. Smith too. He seems like a great guy. He's one of the society deans too i think. Great school, very very impressed as well. I didnt feel the need to ask many questions. We had a pretty good convo about my motivations and my ECs.
