D- in Orgo 1, should I continue to Orgo 2?

So the title says it all. I plan to get a tutor to just fill in the gaps I have for orgo 1 during winter break (approx 3 weeks) and to study everyday for 4-6 hours until second semester starts. I'll continue orgo 2 with a tutor.
Then I will retake orgo 1 in the summer. I had a B for orgo lab. Lab was doable, I guess.

Does this sound plausible? My fault for not getting a tutor until like half the semester was over. I failed my first two exams but then scored a 75 (class avg was 80) on the third exam. Did okay on the final...but my two first exam scores were too low (like...12.5 and 30).

I believe that with some catching up in the winter break with a tutor every week may get me to a more stable place to continue with orgo 2. But I don't know if what I am thinking is logical?

So should I continue with orgo despite my failing grade?

Retake organic 1. Organic 1 was much easier than Organic 2.

Don't you need to pass Orgo 1 in order to be able to register for Orgo 2?

You will not be able to survive in Orgo 2 if you didn't do so hot in 1 🙁

Is orgo 1 not a prereq for orgo 2? My undergrad wouldn't let you take the next course in the series unless you passed the first with a C- or higher.

For me, Organic 2 is much easier than organic 1. but it won't be that easy without fully understanding the basics in organic 1. So yeah, I would suggest taking organic 1 again.
You still need to do the tutor thing during the break ( or study using videos and the books by yourself) to understand it better, and once you get it, you will feel bad a bit, because you would said, I wish I knew that from the beginning.
Let's Face it, dental schools want C or better on science courses, so you have to repeat it anyway, if you repeat it now, you will get an A, in it, and probably A in orgo 2. But please choose the professor wisely.
Also for me, Physics 2 is easier than physics 1, but I guess that's all debatable.

I retook orgo 2 like 2 years after I took orgo 1 and I struggled because I had a lot of gaps in my knowledge of orgo 1. I would suggest retaking orgo 1 especially because as a prerequisite for any professional program you would need to retake orgo 1 and get at least a C. So since in the long run you'll have to take it over anyways, I would retake orgo 1 and then take orgo 2 with a strong understanding of orgo 1 and fresh in your head.

I would retake Orgo 1 first I think it will be easier to do well compared to taking it later plus you will build a better foundation for Orgo 2

What's your reason to take orgo 2 before taking orgo 1 again? A strong foundation in orgo 1 will make your life in orgo 2 somewhat easier (maybe that's why someone mentioned here that orgo 2 was easier for them). Like EVERYONE said, you have to take orgo 1 again anyway and try to achieve at least a c, preferably much higher to show your improvement when applying. Also when studying for the DAT, having better foundations can help you use your time better for practicing rather than studying again almost from scratch.

A C minimum is required for matriculation into D school. So you need to retake anyways.

I took biochem and organic 1 at the same time. Lo and behold, biochem was basically half organic 2 reactions. Needles to say, I was royally taken to the cleaners in biochem.

However, having biochem while taking organic 1really helped me in organic 1

If you are registered, it's only conditional. They'll drop you once they see you didn't pass.
