Hello all,

I have been looking into this but haven't found a specific thread that addresses my question. I was wanting to become a pediatric hospitalist (until they decided to make it a subspecialty), so I am thinking of going to either PICU or NICU as those are the areas I have worked as a nurse and love them both. Do you know how competitive it is for a D.O. to match into either fellowship? I would think not very competitive as I haven't met many people interested in peds, but I could be wrong. Thank you.

Pediatrics is a very DO-friendly specialty, and most pediatric critical care and perinatal-neonatal fellowship programs consider DOs.

Peds isn't competitive, and from my understanding a lot of the fellowships aren't either if you are a decent resident.
