I am really interested in the DO program, but I also am really interested in MPH. Would applying for a joint DO/MPH as opposed to plain DO programs hurt my chances of getting into a DO school if my stats aren't that great? Thanks!

No, it wouldn't hurt your chances in any way.

It definitely will not hurt you. At NSU-COM, you get a free M.P.H. degree and still finish in four years.

I applied to DMU first... found out about the MPH and MHA program, and applied after admission to the DO program.

I suggest looking to DMU. The MPH and MHA programs are far more well known than University of Iowa. Their graduates work for the Iowa Dept of Public Health, directors of multiple sites and program, and are CEO's/CFOs etc throughout the state. There is also a Biomedical Science Master they are offering soon.

Good luck,
😎
