D.O.s Get Practice Rights in New Zealand
In April 2005, the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) approved a US-trained osteopathic physician for full scope of practice rights in New Zealand. This is the first time a US-trained D.O. has been registered with the MCNZ. Previously, US-trained D.O.s were only permitted to practice manipulation in New Zealand. The MCNZ will now accept and review applications from American osteopathic physicians on a case-by-case basis.
