Hello All,

I'm having a really tough time deciding between Dartmouth and Jefferson. One thing I want to know - and students from those schools especially, feel free to chime in - is what are the advantages of each? I do feel that I'm a city person but that I can also adjust well. Will one school give me an advantage over another? I don't like that Dartmouth has barely sent anyone into ophtho in the last couple of years or into emergency medicine. Will I be at a disadvantage for some residencies in a rural setting? Also, does the school really matter when it comes to entering a residency? And for you Dartmouth people out there that came in from a city, is it tough to make the transition or was it easier? Will my board scores likely differ from the teaching quality of one school over another? Any information would help...

I dont want to really push you one way or the other because im biased for my own reasons, but one thing you gotta realize is that match lists should be taken with a grain of salt.. that no one has matched a particular residency says nothing about that school's ability to match students into that residency. It is heavily dependent on what students in that class want, its far more likely that no one applied rather than that school is incapable of sending students to a particular residency.

When it comes down to it, what matters is how YOU do in school whereever school is, and how YOU do on the boards.

If you were me, and if the questions of your post were mine, I'd go to Jefferson.
