anyone know if the dash-8 (type of airplane) has the compartment in the front that you can hang your suit?

the bigger jets do in first class and i have read on here that they will allow you to store your suit even though you don't fly first class...

I don't think they do, they are pretty tight with 2+2 seating. If you don't fly first class, I doubt that any flight attendant will hang your suit. I would probably put it in the overhead bin after its been filled up, so you can slide the suit (in a garment bag) over the luggage that has already been placed. Otherwise, make sure you have an iron in the hotel room! :xf:

I just wanted to chime in that its effin awesome a guy named Planes2Doc just responded. I mean, the odds man, the odds. No idea what a dash-8 is here...

I'm not sure i was in a dash 8, but my last 2x2 propellor plane didn't even have a big enough overhead to fit a carry on suitcase, had no first class, and had no spots to hang suits. In case you were wondering it was a transfer from Albany to Philly via us air.

LOL thanks!!!

Also if you are really worried. You can Fed Ex your suit over to where you are staying. I don't know if anyone tried this but you can try Space Bags. I don't know if they will kill the suit or not, but you can fix it with ironing. Your best bet would be to overnight ship the suit.

I have googled it and there are many ways to pack the suit with in your carry on...this is uncharted territory for me so I'm not sure how it will turn. Out

There is that sky roller thing but its 150 bucks

So my they will probably check in my carry on bc it's a small plane. I have to be at a rental car place by 11pm bc that's when they close. Will I pick up my carry on outside the plane or will I have to go to baggage claim? I can't miss the rental car office and I'm afraid I will if I have to pick up my carry on at baggage claim. My flight comes in at 10:30 BUT well know that sometimes things can be late and so I don't wanna be screwed if it comes at 10:50 and I have to get my carry on from baggage claim.

Thanks

Good solution.

Get to hotel, turn on shower to hottest setting. Hang suit on outside of shower curtain on the shower curtain rod. Leave shower on with door closed for 10ish minutes. Go in quickly and turn shower off. Keep door closed until morning. Wake up and behold your not wrinkled suit.

Yes it is a waste of water, but it works. Please don't iron your suit without at least a handkerchief overtop of it. You run a big risk of messing it up. That's why they say dry clean only/steam press only.

I did a good job of packing my suit and the shower trick always worked for me. Don't iron a suit. I don't own a steamer but I hear they're the best.

As for the timing thing - you're going to have to sweat that one out. If your rental car place is in the terminal and you pay to check the bag, you can go get the car first and then grab your bag. Otherwise you must wait by the jetway until the ground crew fishes your bag out. But the truth is you are taking a big chance given the flight might be late no matter what your plan is. You might end up having to take a cab/public transit if that's the case.
