Hello.
First, I want to thank everyone at SDN for your help... without all the great info on here, I would have failed miserably.
My score today.
PAT: 23 98.1
QR: 18 75.8 👎thumbdown👎
RC: 19 59.7 👎thumbdown👎
Bio: 22 95.7
GC: 23 95
OC: 21 87.6
TS: 22 96
AA: 21 93
Overall.. I am happy with the score. I am disappointed with my QR and RC... but that's my own fault for not preparing for them.
If I had any advice to give to future DAT taker is (myself included) is be confident about what you know... believe in your preparation and don't dwell on things that you don't know.
I feel like I could have done better if I wasn't scared so ****less. I was so intimidated and nervous that first few Bio questions, I had to read questions 3,4 times before I understood what I was answering. Even then still didn't have conviction that my answer was right. First gen chem question, a simple stoichiometry question, it took me 2 minute to do and wasn't even sure I got them right. Once I settled in, it wasn't too bad. I had little bit time left over so I went back to problems in the beginning of each section my nerves couldn't handle. They weren't so intimidating after I had gained some confidence.
RC... even though my score is low, I consider myself lucky. I was running out of time and last passage was on a topic I was pretty familiar with so I really didn't need to read the passage to answer most of the question. Second passage I just zoned out... I know I read it but I didn't pick up anything... I was trying to search and destroy but I am not very good at that. What was it about? I still don't know.

QR... There were soooooooooo many word problems. I simply didn't have enough time. It took me 15 minutes to do 10 problems. I knew this wasn't the pace I needed, so I decided to just read the problems and if I was going need some time to set up, I blindly guessed, marked it and moved on. I only worked through problems I could set up as I read the questions. Even then, I didn't have enough time to go back and answer questions I marked.

Here's how I prepared for my test:
1st week, I went through Chad's G chem video. Making notes for each topic covered.
2nd week, I went through Chad's O chem video. Again making notes for each topic covered.
3rd, 4th, 5th week... I studied from KBB and Cliff's AP bio. I studied 1 chapter per day and made notes. I went through Campbell Bio book and my old bio notes to make sure I didn't skimp out on some details.
I reviewed my chad's chem notes whenever I had chance.
6th,7th week.... I did DAT destroyer first time around. I made sure I could do all the problems and made sure I understood why something was right and why something was wrong. I made notes on things that I wasn't sure about. Everyday I reviewed notes I made from previous day and did number of problems for that day.
During commute to school, I listened to MCAT osmosis
8th week... I did Destroyer second time around and did Crack DAT PAT 1 test per day. I reviewed my notes everyday.
During commute, I listened to MCAT osmosis.
9th and last week (week of exam)... I felt like I wasn't sufficiently prepared for Ochem section... So I tried to do Ochem Odyssey but with school exams... and other stuff plus I just didn't have anything in me to make the last push. and I caught a cold... I just did some PAT for fun.
Right now... I am not sure how I feel about my score because QR and RC and somewhat OC. I know these aren't terrible... may be it is? I don't know. I feel like I could do better. Especially QR... going in, I just made sure I remembered all the geometry equations and trig functions... all of which weren't that useful. I always considered myself to be good at math but I guess not.
Should I consider retake? I know if I practice QR with time constraint... I will be able to improve it. and RC, I am sure I can train myself to read faster. And I think I can improve my other scores as well. Do you think it's worth it?
