I have two questions:

1) What is DAT Achiever and when would be the best time to use it? I am going to be following the schedule that was posted on this site (8 wk schedule).

2) Which version of the Crack DAT PAT is good to use? The 2012-2013 version is like $220! What is the difference between that one and the older versions? Where can I get them for a good price?

I have not used DAT Achiever but I will try my best to answer you questions.

(1)DAT Achiever is test package that resembles real DAT in terms of format to give you real test experience. It comes in 3,5,7 test package. The best time to use DAT achiever is finishing all content review, DAT destroyer as well as crack DAT PAT.

(2) Buy Crack DAT PAT Ace Edition. Which is $129.99

I assume that Crack DAT PAT would be same as always except some questions have been
changed. I have 2011 edition and I get all free updates. So they just say new edition but usually this
version could be upto 2-3 years old even though it says 2012 edition.

Get Dat Achiever but dont use it to gauge how well you will do on the test. It is extremely difficult, way harder than the real DAT, but is good to pin point your weak areas.

Also get the 10 test Crack Dat Pat edition w\o the 1000s of extra questions.

Crack DAT PAT is amazing. I haven't taken the real deal yet, im going to on the 31st, but without that program I don't think I could prepped myself for the PAT this well. I do believe that TFE is ALOT easier on the CDP program. I think Kaplan does a better job, because the CDP answers choices are really random and its easy to just elimante a bunch of em. Kaplan structures them very similarly and its harder to distinguish the right answer. Just my 2 cents brah.

I'm confused. I bought the 129 dollar ace bundle and it's showing the ten tests. However, it says I need to upgrade to get the "pat overview video, pat video tutorials, angle ranking, cube counting, hole punching". What is going on?

Those were the extra questions I was talking about. You don't need that stuff. Just search the forums here or on predds dot net for good strategies and start practicing

Get the CDP version that has 10 tests. It should be $130 or 150. I think the other edition with thousands of questions is waaay overkill. Achiever is more cost effective since for 140 it gives you 7 WHOLE tests, but I can't imagine prepping without either. CDP is what you need to understand PAT and get the basics down. Achiever is what you need to keep you improving once you start scoring 23+ on CDP.

Achiever can be purchased here: http://www.3tquest.com/index.php?module=products&id=1

Just remember that Achiever is REALLY REALLY difficult. Not a good measure of score, just more of a learning and motivational tool.

CDP can be purchased here: https://pat.crackdat.com/order/browse_products.php

I recommend the ACE edition for PAT. If you struggle with english the Flush edition for reading is very helpful, though again its kinda pricey.

Lastly, all these software types can't be had in a cost effective manner. You'll pay full price and you'll get nothing back. That is just the way these are designed. Good luck studying for the DAT.

I have to say that the DAT Achiever was probably the worst study material I purchased for test preparation.

The tests are completely overkill when it comes to difficulty (compared to the real DAT) and I was utterly demoralized every time I saw my scores littered with 13-16s. I understand people's claims that the Achiever results forces you to amp up your studying and shift into overdrive, as this is true, but at what cost?

I was miserable over the last month of studying (which was when I did their practice tests) and it affected my studying, attitude with my fiancee, diet/exercise, you name it, and the only poor scores I was getting were from the Achiever tests. It's hard to motivate yourself when you see scores like that time and time again, and I believe that I study better when I'm feeling like I'm improving.

Again, Achiever may have helped me overall, but for the price I paid mentally I would not use it again.

How did you end up scoring?

Rough... Achiever isn't perfect and it isn't for everyone. If you're going to use it as a yard-stick it isn't going to work. I am sorry you had such a terrible experience.

In my own case I alternated doing Topscore and Achiever tests doing a bunch of them in one week. So I knew Achiever's scores were non-sense and I only used the scores Achiever gave me to see if I was improving relatively to other Achiever tests only.

@ OP: the post I'm quoting does tell you the major problem with Achiever and why some people, understandably, hate it. I still feel its a great prep tool, but if you're someone who can't ignore the low scores Achiever WILL spit out at you, stick to CDP.
