I'm so happy to finally be done! Thanks to everyone else who posted breakdowns of their own DAT, it helped a lot!!

PAT: 22 (90.9)
QR: 28 (99.6)
RC: 25 (97.2)
Bio: 23 (97.4)
GC: 28 (99.0)
OC: 24 (94.9)
TS: 25 (99.3)
AA: 26 (99.9)👍

I honestly don't remember much of what was on the test, except for one pesky GC problem. I forgot that a solution of 10^-10 M HCl would have a pH of close to 7. I looked at that problem for like 10 minutes at the end because I knew something was wrong. The correct answer hit me just in time, as soon as the section was over!

As far as my study plan goes, repitition was key for me. I read through Kaplan three times, Cliffs AP Bio twice, Barron's DAT twice, and I went through DAT Destroyer and Math Destroyer 3 times. After the second time doing the Destroyers I made notes on every question I missed, and I read them over and over while at the gym and before I went to bed.

I only used Crack Dat, 2007 and 2009 ADA for practice tests. Crack Dat science is junk. The PAT was great though. I went through all 10 tests once and then went through and did the first 5 again. I ended up getting perfect or close to perfect on every part of PAT except for freaking angles. I usually got a 7 or 8/15 on that section. I did Crack Dat RC 3 times, which really helped just to feel out the kinds of questions on the test. Crack Dat Math was pretty good too, but after Math Destroyer it wasn't anything too difficult.

Well, good luck to everyone who is studying for the DAT now. Just keep going over the things you miss and you'll get it. Oh, and don't forget that wikipedia is usually the quickest source for finding random bio info.

I haven't heard much about financial aid, but does anyone think there is a chance I get offered a scholarship with these scores and a 3.93 GPA, ~3.9 sGPA?

first of all, Congrats
and secondly, Wow....I wouldn't be surprised if a dental school they pays you to go to their school with ur score coupled with ur GPA

AA= 26!! amazinnn...

Ur def getting, in so Relax and enjoy urself

What a kick ass score. Wow!

Yes, you are certainly in the running for a scholarship, as they tend to go towards applicants with 3.9-4.0 GPAs with 24+ DAT scores, but don't hold your breath because they are typically only a partial scholarship. I never heard of a full scholarship.

I have a classmate whose cousin finished with a 4.0 and perfect 30 DAT but could only score a partial scholarship (around 10-15K per year) to his few applied school. (No joke, this is true -- I'm facetious in many of my posts to my readers lol).

Anyway, how were the RC topics? Any crazy ones or extra long ones?

@buckeye2012

was there any plant questions on the bio, if so how specific/ was it in the destroyer?

Whatever you sayyy buddy.

Amazing scores.

Can I ask what your R&C strategy was? Did you read the whole passage first, questions first, etc.?

The RC section was not too bad. They were all around 13 paragraphs, but one strictly science one was very short. Two were science based, and one was more of a history topic. I really didn't know what to do for my strategy, but I chose to read the first 4-5 questions then read the passage quickly, then basically re-read whatever I needed to answer each question. The first read through was slow enough to understand which paragraphs have a transition of idea, but fast enough to be almost skimming. I really think you just gotta figure out what works best, and this seemed to work best for me.

Good Luck!

First and foremost congrats, those are killer scores.

and really a 30 AA or 30 on a couple categories?

Wow! Amazing. Congratulations. How many hours a day would you say you studied?

It was an odd study schedule. I had two days a week that I didn't work or have classes, so I probably studied a good 9 hours on those days, probably 4-6 hours on Saturday and Sunday each, and usually 1-2 hours before class early in the morning on the 3 days I had class. This lasted about 4 months. It was definitely a sacrifice, but I think it was well worth it.

It was a 30AA. Not sure about PAT.

From what my classmate told me, his socially inept cousin slept on average 2-3 hours/night taking care of his school work while studying DAT about 2 years in advance.

It's possible. Anyone who's intelligent and studies DAT diligently for 2 years straight should be able to score at least in the high 20's across the board.

Congrats man. This breakdown definitely motivated me to go study.
