Finally the struggle is over. Sorry I'm late with the breakdown but I was on
a "being done with DAT high" for a week. I studied on and off from April to June but went hardcore (4-6 hours a day) for the last 3 weeks. I was very bipolar last Monday, here are my scores:

PAT 17 🙁
QR 19
RC 17 :scared:
Bio 19
GChem 23
Ochem 25

TS 21
AA 21

PAT: I used Crack the PAT. Took only 5 of the tests and got 18, 18, 18, 19, 19. I should have finished the 10 tests I had but had no time. Everything was on par with Crack except the hole punching was slightly harder. I just panicked on the section to be honest.

QR: I used Math Destroyer and Topscore. I was getting like 20/40 on the Math Destroyer and so it is a lot harder than the actual DAT. Topscore was on par with the real one. I got 19, 19, 20 on Topscore. My opinion is to work on trig and probability a lot! Also, the calculator didn't lag either and helped me with 6-7 of the problems.

RC: Crazy hard section I had some TOUGH articles and maybe 10-12 tone/inference questions. Topscore is HORRIBLE for this section. I got 22, 23, 26 on Topscore. Topscore has no tone etc... questions b/c it is straight facts. Not a good resource.

BIO: I used AP Cliffs, Destroyer. I read Cliffs 4 times and did all the Destroyer problems. To be honest the questions are extremely random but know Cliffs front to back and you should be fine (>20).

GChem: I used Chad and Destroyer (twice). Perfect resources for this section. Watch Chad, take notes on Chad, do Destroyer twice, take notes on Destroyer and review all your notes again for the last week

Ochem: I used Chad and Destroyer (twice). Do the same as above and know the ROAD MAPS in the middle of Destroyer front to back! Nothing too tricky on this section.

I have a 4.03 sGPA, 3.99 overall and 3.8 non-sci. Applied to 15 schools on AADSAS and will send secondaries to about 10. My 17s should not be huge problem right? Most schools have 17 cut offs not 18 right?

You have two 17's on two crucial components of the DAT that dental schools look into the most. It's your call but I would retake if I were you.

High hope is a little too high on something other than hope. Your scores are great, a 21 AA will get you in to plenty of schools. The most critical sections are without a doubt the sciences which you rocked. Good job!

A lot of schools have a reading cut of at 18. Just you know.

You did fine, especially on the sciences. You also have a really good GPA.

I was wondering, did you see any IR/NMR in orgo that is beyond what is in the Destroyer? I never studied it in the orgo classes I took, so I'm a little worried about that.

Thanks so much!

Study the IR/NMR you need to memorize all of the numbers!!!
I knew them, but I didn't know all of the numbers and I got 4 problems ! :scared: screwing my OC score

I would for sure know the big groups like carbonyl, OH stretch and amine (sharp at around 3000). They are very basic questions and so they make you differentiate between the BIG groups.

depends on what schools you want to go? like UOP cares alot about RC and PAT.

but in almost every school u have more of a shot than me (3.4 and 24 DAT)

i dont think you should retake cuz it would be in october. but then again, depends on the school you want to go.

I would be honored to go anywhere but my top choices are UCLA and UCSF :xf:. I know for a fact UCSF has a 17 cutoff on each section and I know for a fact they don't look at the PAT much (talked to admissions director). RC is a different story, I can see why that would be a problem.

I know midwestern but i did see other schools... just check all the schools websites for this info. b4 u apply

I apologize but I am not adcom. You have good dat scores. Just check the schools websites before you apply for cutoffs so you dont waste $72+secondary app fee. Other than that just apply to all the schools that you have planned.

Your OC score is awesome! You should be very proud of yourself. Good luck with your applications! :luck:

Pretty good scores. Congrats?
Grade inflation in your school?

Don't know, might be my hard work and commitment though. We are graded on a typical bell curve (15% As) so I don't know if thats inflation or not.

lol UC's are definitely not grade inflated. Man you dominated UC Irvine dude, I didn't do anywhere near as good as you did. I graduated from there this past june, guess I'm competing against you for a spot at UCSF and UCLA =/.

Can someone tell me the exact format for dat.. and how much in depth each section goes... such as biology- includes bio 1 and 2 , anatomy and physiology

Let me know asap 🙂

congrats on the good scores!! My dats on the 9th, and Im going thru destroyer for the 2nd time and im still missing a lot, is this normal?? I'm even missing things I got right the 1st time..

Make sure you read the answers carefully and why each answer choice can or cannot be the right answer choice. Try not to skim through Destroyer, GO through Destroyer. Really understand it and you should be fine. The real test is easier than Destroyer
