Shoombol is finally done and I would like to thank all my homies on SDN HarryGt, DDSGuyinLA, Poodizzle, Green Wave for his notes and everyone else who I may have forgotten to thank.

Ok so im done and I gotta say Im very happy with my scores. Overall I dont think there is one single resources or practice test that I can compare it to. Although some of the bio questions were very similar to the Destroyer. I used pretty much every resource you can possibly imagine Destroyer, Cliffs, Ochem Odyssey, 1001 Examkrackers questions in gchem and Ochem, High yield bio, Cliffs bio, SAT Math, and some kaplan stuff like their orgo and genchem subject tests, Crack the dat math and Pat, Achiever. I have to say that all of them were good for the test with exception probably being odyssey. Its a really good book for ochem class but 90 percent of that stuff is way way beyond the scope of the test. Ok so now to the test...

Bio: Not so bad some of the questions were kinda random. I would make sure I know destroyer the best for this section. High yield bio is also a great book that doesnt get a lot of love on this site but i liked it. Also Cliffs was good. Did not go over schaums.

Gchem: most was pretty straight forward had two questions that I guessed on. Not too bad. If you know the conceptual questions in 1001 Gchem questions then this stuff will be cake.

Ochem: Very very easy. I dont know what to say just know the basics and know them well.

RC: thank god i did not get frapped or pianoed. My passages were Cancer, exercise and health, and something else I cant remember.

QR : not too bad Im not good at math but i thought it was pretty straight forward. Easier than crack the dat math.

PA: Im really disappointed in this score. I thought i would get atleast a twenty. I think what screwed me was the old bubble screen monitors (thanks prometric) that distorted some of the pics. A few of my keyhole questions looked 99 percent a like.

My Crack the pat scores were 18 for the first 7 and 20's the last three.

Crack the dat math i started at 16 and went up to 20 (really good practice)

my achiever scores i dont have access to but i can tell you my first two were

18/19/16 and 18/18/17

my last one was 20/18/17 I took them like a month apart and my last one was like a month ago.

and now to my scores,

PA:18
QR:18
RC:19
BIO:24
GChem:24
Ochem:29

23/25/18 that 18 looks out of place lol.

If you guys want to get at me about some of my test prep stuff let me know I have destroyer, cliffs, examkrackers, high yield bio, ......bootleg audio osmosis persian rugs 🙂

great scores!! Good luck with the application process, Im sure you wont have any problems landing interviews. Now relax and enjoy the 2 weeks left of summer.

hey man! really really good scores. CONGRATS!!!
Question about GC and OC tho....when u say conceptual u mean?? and when u say Basics for OC...u mean what exactly. U mean destroyer level?, no?
Wud b really helpful. Thanks!

I have examcrackers gen chem, do you recommend I do it? I also have the one for bio but its mostly passages did you use it?

Yes you should definately go over that ! I read it once took notes and reviewed my notes a couple of times. Great stuff in there but some stuff is a little too complicated and when you see it trust me you'll know lol. I didnt do the bio one so i dont know. I really like high yield bio book. It explained some of the harder concepts for me really well like translation, filtration, meosis, stuff like that.

To answer your question kkae I think destroyer is good but the questions themselves are harder than the test. I would supplement destroyer with 1001 ochem questions in examkrackers. Most of the questions are really basic like which alkene, is more stable (not an actual question just made it up) or what functional group is this. stuff like that

How would you compare GCHEM questions to the destroyer gchem? I've heard from numerous people that the gchem on DAT is worded very weird and differently..and nothing like the destroyer

Yeah it is a little weird on the test. Actually to tell you the truth all the science questions are worded a little weird but destroyer is good practice. So are the kaplan subject tests and 1001 questions by examkrackers. If I were to study for the test knowing what I know I wouldn't leave any of the three out.

Heyy, great scores and congratulations! Enjoy the rest of the summer you earned it!
I do have a question though, for the exam crackers books are you referring to the MCAT ones or a different version of them?

Dont waste your money and time on their verbal reasoning book. I like their products but the MCAT verbal is completely different than the DAT RC section. You need to work on reading 3 much longer passages in 50 minutes (DAT) rather than 6 short passages in 80 minutes (MCAT). The MCAT verbal reasoning section is more similar to the LSAT than it is DAT

I was wondering, about how long did it take you to go through the 1001 gen chem exam crackers book? I ask this because I have about a week left but there are still some other stuff I need to practice on as well. So I want to get a general idea of how/if I can fit the whole book into my schedule.

good job shoomboool! the thing is that im a shoombal talla and i scored pretty well too! i guess you gotta be very luck to be gifted with a tala shoombool! good luck with rest of the stuff!

If you could go back and do it again, how would you say you coudl get the most out of a short amount of time? What would you say is the most important. I am studying without destroyer, and am wondering what I can use to help my gen chem out a bit. I have the MCAT examcrackers chem and high yield book.... i don't really like it so far though. I feel prepared for chem, but feel like I don't know it well enough quite yet. Any tips? Keep practicing setting up calculation problems and such? That is my biggest weakness I would say...

hey flampard i dont know man my shoombol is pretty special hence the name shoombol tallah 🙂 Hey lazerous if you only have a week left then i'd just look at the acid base, periodic trends, ideal gas sections briefly because some of those questions are pretty complicated and you dont really want to learn a bunch of new stuff the last week. Its better to solidify the concepts you already know.

Priyerz: Im not affiliated with destroyer but if you want your best bang for the buck and easiest way to get the most relevant information in a short amount of time then i'd suggest you invest in the destroyer. But if you absolutely dont want to get that then like I said i would highly recommend going through the examkrackers books for both gchem and ochem. Also get a hold of kaplan subject tests if you can. But like you said I would keep doing as many questions as I could get my hands on. Go to your library and pick up a AP chemistry book and solve those problems. Try to understand why things work the way they do and not just how to get the answer. Because the people that write the questions love to switch things up just enough to try and trick you.

this is the high yield biology book : http://www.amazon.com/Columbia-Revi...=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1218673526&sr=8-2

I think its worth the price. If you dont like the amazon price let me know and i can sell you mine for cheaper 🙂

thanks shoombol. My test is tuesday so I am trying to get the crunch on the most important high yield info on the exam. I have been studying, and feel prepared... but the last minute stuff, just not sure what I should spend my time working on. Thanks for the help 🙂
