Hi, i'm taking my DAT exam this May 29th.

If it goes bad i'm going to take it after 3 months which is the

end of August or beginning of September.

Is it too late to take it in early Sept.?

What do you guys think?

I already delayed my exam twice, (Last year August to December, December to this May) but dealing with school, I didn't study that much for DAT.

I'm not confident right now, but feels like if i don't take it right now

i'll do the samething keep delaying and be lazy.

I think i might need a wake up call, if i do bad on this May exam, i'll study harder and DO REALLY PREPARE during the summer.

What do you guys think?

One of my friend said it is kinda late to take it in early sept.

He told me to delay it again.

I dont think its a good idea to delay it for 3 times.

What do you guys think ~??!!

Yes! September is probably too late. Remember! most schools use the rolling admission process, which means the later u send in ur scores the slimmer your chances of acceptance will be. Also, it takes between 3-4 weeks before they send your scores to the schools. So, let's say you take ur exam during early September, schools won't receives your school until later September. Most schools are sending out invitations for interviews during that time.
Besides, why are you going to an exam with the mindset that you'll mess it up and will need to retake it?
Why not put in the extra effort during the time you have to get good scores, so you won't need to retake it at all?

Anyways, best of luck to you👍

So you're still scheduled to take the exam at the end of this month? I would stick with that date and see how the test goes. If the test doesn't go as well as planned, retake it in September but still apply with the scores you get in May. You're in the same situation I am in... I had the test scheduled for spring break and moved it to June 1st. I am studying for it as much as possible and hopefully only taking it once!

Was anyone curious why I have so many posts and still haven't taken DAT yet? That's because I have been waiting until I am ready to ace it. But yes...being an undergraduate for 5~6 yrs is definitely not right...XD.

How are ur practice exams looking? first thing to do is take a practice exam. See where u stand, so u kno wat u need to do to get ur score up to par. Best of luck, and dont go into the exam with the mindset that you will retake.

If aadsas has already processed your application in June, it will only take about a week for the schools to get your new scores. Don't take it until you feel ready. Don't go into the DAT your first time for "practice" planning on retaking it again in Sept, but if you have to, a new score in Sept will probably still make a diff for some schools, but for other schools it may not.

I am in the same boat. I am taking mine on 27th of May and considering a retake. I got BIO19/Chem19/Ochem20/RC17/QR19/AA19/PAT23 on kaplan midterm, which I took about a week ago. During a week after, I reviewed kaplan online exams and destroyer, which I finished about 3 weeks ago. Does anybody know how kaplan midterm score relate to the real thing?
What score should I expect to get?

Don't rush taking the exam! Take your time and study like a hell.... and hammer the exam from the first time. I see that you still have the whole summer to study for it. I'd just say that keep working on your application and try this year with DAT score sent on Sept.

If it didn't work this year, next year you should have stronger case! and one or even two years are NOT a big concern in the whole picture.. You can do so much stuff in your life.👍
