It's the DAT. It's a sample DAT. It's pretty darn representative.

Me too, I thought the sample was way easier. The sample seemed to have basic concepts while on the real dat i got some very indepth questions (including the now infamous FRAP and 3 total on artificial insemenation...😕).

Actually,this is very common method in all molecular research lab.I'm a researcher myself and basically this is one of the best way to keep track of the subject of interest for us.So,don't be so surprise if they include this topic in RC as research apparently is very important for DS Schools. ( the reason is not very clear for me).
 
I would agree that the sample DAT on the ADA website is a little easier than the real DAT, particularly in the BIO section. I also got a FRAP on my DAT as well as several questions about artificial insemination. It doesn't hurt to look at the sample DAT though. The more questions you see and the better you understand the concepts of the questions, the better off you'll be. I felt that I learned more by studying questions and reviewing why certain answers were wrong or right helped me more than trying to read review materials such as Kaplan. Just a personal opinion.
 
frap is a method used to observe whether molecules are free to move around or stationary (and not fluid). imagine you highlighted the entire plasma membrane and then u removed a spot of the flurescence via a laser. now if the plasma membrane is a fluid object the black spot will be filled with florescence with the molecules surrounding it. if the membrane is not able to move around then the black spot will remain forever. sajjy if u too mcb 210 u would know what im talking about.

It isn't the membrane that is moving, it is the tagged macromolecules in the membrane that are laterally diffusing. This was one of the pieces of evidence that supports the fluid mosaic model of the cell membrane.

isn't it a little presumptuous and early to call yourself a "dental student." Until Fall we are still all predents....
