So I just did my DAT and i was told i did good but don't know how good. Bio 20 OC 20 GC 20 RC 25 PAT 20 QR 19 TS 20 AA 21, my gpa is like sitting at around 3.3, i did an honours thesis project in my 4th year if that helps. I'm a canadian applicant. Is this competitive enough? If i want to improve myself for the next cycle should i take more classes and boost my gpa or a masters.

If i gave it a shot, which schools are canada friendly now.

Thanks very much guys, really appreciate it.

Your DAT is pretty good, it's above average for accepted applicants. If I remember correctly, scores of 20 or 21 are in the 80-85th percentile.

I'd say you're pretty competitive for this cycle already. You should look into schools that are known to accept Canadian students, such as NYU, Boston, Case Western. Basically the large private schools.

3.3 with honors thesis and your 20s across most of your DAT scores should land you some interviews

My score sheet says my 21 (with 20 TS) is 97.2%. Is this no longer accurate? Took the test 01/11.
23AA for July DAT - 98.1%. I don't think schools even see the %, though. It is interesting to see so many high scores here, makes you wonder how accurate those percentages are.

schools don't see percentiles, some tests are more difficult than others which is why some of the same scores are in different percentiles

Consider applying to University of Detroit Mercy. GL

Just got my 23 today and it said I was in the 98.7 percentile.

I think the point of a standardized exam is to eliminate the potential of one exam being "harder" than another. There might be an instance where a sample of test takers for a particular exam do significantly worse than another sample of test takers on another exam, which would produce a deviation from the standard percentiles for given scores..This doesn't necessarily mean the exam was "harder". And I don't think this happens very often either.. I would suspect most 23's are probably in the 98.1 percentile. Any SDN'er have a solid foundation in statistics to expound on this?
I think you're partially right here, but I don't think there's any way to 'eliminate the potential of one exam being harder than another.' If a certain test has on average higher scores than another test, it could be that the test is 'easier,' or it could be that the test was taken by a higher caliber of test-takers. So the point of providing a standardized score is to account for both of these possibilities. If you really want to find out more about how the test is scored (or if you're having trouble going to sleep😴), here's a gem that I came across cruising SDN somewhere.
