is it just me.. or is the DAT score more important than your GPA. ive seen ppl who have 3.6+gpas get rejected bcoz of their below 20 on any section of the DAT. ... and people with below 3.0 gpa but with 20+ DAT scores getting in..

so.. would it be safe to say that DAT score is more important than GPA?
(i know theres more factors that play into gettin accpeted i.e. EC activities7overall important and personal growth as an individual)
but it just seems like DAT is the most important thing

DAT score is a bigger factor in determining if your going to get accepted and to where. Some schools will prefer ppl with activities and other crap like that but many schools want to see a high gpa. GPA in my opinion is BS cause anyone can befriend a teacher and do well in some classes or even major in something easy and end up with a high gpa but if they are not intellectually qualified then DAT come into the picture and ends up revealing that person's true grades. DAT makes everyone regardless of what school equal, so it does play a big factor.

there are a bunch of threads like this, and here's what you should expect:

those who have a low GPA and high DAT are going to say DAT is more important, those with high GPA low DAT are going to say DAT doesn't measure anything and that GPA is more important, and those with high both are going to say its more than just GPA and DAT (ec's, research, etc...)

i agree with the last statement, as do a lot of people.

as for which is more important...it honestly depends on the school. some schools prefer high DAT (columbia, UoP), others high GPA. overall though, you're right in that you'll see a lot of applicants with high gpa, low dat who are rejected, whereas those with lower gpa's and higher DATs tend to get accepted
