Hi guys,

I am writing the DAT in exactly one week and I feel prepared for everything except the TFE portion of the PAT. I am complete garbage at it. I am almost guessing on every single question and I usually throw away about 10-11 of the points on this part of the PAT. What do you guys recommend I do to improve on this section?

I took some engineering classes in high school that dealt with drawing Top front side views (the same as TFE) and that's what helped me a lot on this exam. Check out some TFS drawings and try to replicate some simple shapes and then practice TFE. I hardly practiced the TFE section and used what I learned from the drawings previously to do that sections and I normally never missed more than 1 question in that sections.

Hey Samer, the best thing you can do is just keep practicing. Just hammer individual CDP/Bootcamp TFE sections and review the solutions/correct answers thoroughly. Try to match up up all of the lines for each of the views, and try your hardest to visualize how the object looks from each view.

You need to analyze the questions/answers and match lines like syntav says. You will notice patterns in the questions/answers where they commonly change the same things to see if you catch it. For example, a diamond vs a circle in one view is 3 vs 2 lines in the other view respectively...

Excellent. Thank you all for your input. I am just going to keep practicing TFE as much as I can until test day!
