So I just finished my DAT and it was less than impressive..

Ochem 21
Bio 18
Gen Chem 17
Q reasoning 14
Reading 18
PAT 15

Science 18
Academ Avg 18

GPA 3.97
science GPA 3.90

I felt like I was really prepared for this test because I took the online Kaplan that cost me 1700 dollars. I don't know if I would really recommend the course to anyone because you could get the same type of information as the online class as just buying the books and saving yourself a lot of money...and the PAT on kaplan is SOO Much easier....I was scoring 24's on the PAT on my Kaplan practice exams and as you call tell by my DAT I wasn't even close!!

So now my question is what should I do? If I wait my 90 days to retake it then I will be the height of my academic year with very hard classes next semester and I just don't really know what to think about the PAT section...do any of you think there is really a way to get better as Perceptual ability or is it just a thing you are kind of good at your not...any advice? What are my chances with that DAT?

Thanks everyone I appreciate it!

One more question....so your academic average doesn't include your PAT right?? SO than when people ask you what you got on your DAT what do you say because you have to separate scores...PAT and academic average?

scores are fine except PAT and QR. QR if you bump up to a 17 you would be fine. Shoot for atleast an 18 on the PAT. Def retake though because your GPA does not match your score.

I think you should contact your favorite schools and ask their opinion on overall app. Since your GPA is very close to perfection, some schools may have no problem accepting you even with the low QR and PAT scores.
3.97/18 is definite Yes for many schools.

But, if they don't like it, you have no choice other than retake.

When people ask about your DAT score, you usually tell them your Academic Average.
