ok my question is. for the cube counting. How do you know when there are cubes in the background or not. According to crack dat, in figure B, you know that there's one half hidden one and one completely hidden one. But in figure D, you can only infer that there's only that one half hidden one. How can you know whether there are hidden cubes or not. I thought if you can't see it, they don't exist, but these two figures seem to tell me different things on what to assume. What can I definitely assume when I see figures for cube counting? please and thank you

p.s. if anyone has any other suggestions or hints as to what strategies they use to do this section at a fairly decent pace, that would also be very helpful. I took the kaplan course and they suggest going over all the squares and figuring out how many sides for all of them before attempting the questions but this never works out for me...

p.p.s. i have other questions regarding the PAT section. one section at a time haha. thanks again guys

every cube has either the floor under it or a cube.
it should not take you long to count the number of cubes.
simple and easy
GOOD LUCK

I'm taking kaplan too. kaplan is wrong imo. just count the ones they ask you about, no need for doing any extras.

sorry can you explain that first sentence. what do you mean either the floor under it or a cube. you mean a cube (under it?) that doesn't make any sense because in figure D, the cube in the background that's half shown; according to crack dat, there's nothing under it. it's just one block sticking out.

sure no problem. so if you see a cube in the picture and it isn't on the lowest level (lowest level is the floor level) then there must be a cube under it whether you see it or not. got it?\

GOOD LUCK
